I started at Children’s in October of 1978. Marie had already been there a number of years. She worked hard and always had a kind word to say to all she came in contact with. If someone needed help Marie was the first to offer.
Marie I will always remember our times out dancing, your kindness when I went through family losses and how well we worked together.
I know you’ve already been declared a Saint by God because there is no other word to describe you. Your kindness will be forever remembered.
I love you dear friend! Say hello to Marcella for me. She is happy to have you home.

Dear Marie. You were a legend when I started at Childrens 33 years ago. So many memories that still make me laugh- "Sheesh", running after the fellow "X", calling him "Z". You did a hard job well, being the first face the families saw when they came into the NICU. You did it well. May you dwell in the peace of Christ that you so richly deserve.

Marie...a one of a kind human, with a heart of gold. She joined my Church in WBL and I invited her to go to the Summer Festival and the Pro-life Fall Tea. She also served Holy Communion to patients @ St. John's hospital. She loved her little dog Tyler, who was at her side on the floor of her sweet cottage home...unknown hours when he good friend Linda found her. Rest in peace, sweet Marie. Barb Major

Auntie Rie,
I will always remember watching the Kardashians with you and shell at your house. And the family dinners we would have with my dad. I'm so sorry the last few years weren't what they shouldve been, but I will always love, and care for you. Rest so peacefully ❤

Words really can't express how sad I am about the loss of my dear friend Marie. Marie trained me as a Unit Coordinator in the NICU at Children's Hospital 32 years ago and I still hold that job today. I quickly learned what a hard and dedicated worker she was and we became fast friends. Our friendship remained over all of these years and thankfully we kept in touch after Marie retired in 2007. Marie I miss you and will never forget you. I will always carry you with me in my heart and mind.

A force for good in a very small package is how I will always remember Marie. When the going got tough at work, and it often did, Marie always was eager to help. Never shying away from a difficult task, she gave of herself 100%. Always! Though I did not see her often after she retired, words cannot adequately describe the loss I feel. She will be missed.

Though she has moved on, her influence remains. Smile, do good, and say “sheesh” once in awhile. Marie would like that.
