OBITUARY

Tisha A. Tietz

Play Tribute Movie

Tisha Tietz, 61, passed away on April 17, 2021, after a long fight with lung cancer. She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved family; her sister Sue, son Joe, daughters Jennifer, Casandra, and Shawna. Her six grandchildren Nate, Aiden, Dylan, Carson, Alma, and Jonathan all cherish her. Tisha had a special bond and unique relationship with each of us, but we always knew that she was our sanctuary. Even if it were sitting in the living room watching tv or at the kitchen table playing cribbage it was the words not spoken that meant the most.

Tisha loved to garden in her backyard and often enlisted the help of her kids and grandkids to pull weeds. When the sun came out from behind the clouds you would catch her with her eyes closed facing the sunlight as if she was capturing the sun's energy like her garden.

Family and friends are invited to help celebrate her life Saturday, May 1st from 12-4. Please call (651) 955-2952 for location information.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Open Arms (OpenArmsMN.org) or the American Lung Association (Action.Lung.org).

Mom went through a lot as a young woman, always trying to balance work and her children. Early on, we bounced around a lot (10 moves in 3 years), and things were not easy. I remember going to the food shelf hoping that the right foods would be there and a smile on her face when they were. Things stabilized in the mid-'80s when I can recall a shift in focus from survival to providing stability for three children at the time, and of course, baby Shawna came a few years later.

I recall all the two-bedroom living spaces we had, where Jennifer and I shared a room with a sheet down the middle, and baby Cassy was in with Mom. The house on Sylvia was 1st time we had our own rooms before the fire, then moved above the Arcade Shade Shop and then to Dayton's Bluff.

As a young teen, I could see Mom grow as a woman heading into her 30's. After bouncing around throughout her late teens and 20's, she developed not only as Mom but professionally. As a young boy and as a teen, the work ethic and drive she showed starting a career after going through so much shaped me and my approach to work and family. She was the greatest inspiration of my life.

I remember how proud she was to own her 1st electric typewriter and that she could type 40 words a minute. She then moved on working with Personal Computers, quickly became Manager, and finally moved to a Program Manager. We worked together for many years in her min-late 30's at DecisionOne. This shaped our relationship for the next 25 years. It had plenty of mother and son moments, like my wedding day and birth of two of her grandkids, and kick off new bonds around our careers. I remember having conversations early on about how similar our goals were, promotions, buying a house, saving for the future. More recently around how to build 401K's and invest in the future.

This how I will remember Mom, the teenager who lived a hard life and grew up in front of my eyes when I was a teen, and the pride she had in having a career and joy b

Working with Tisha for close to a decade, the time seems so short now. Many projects were conceived, planned and executed. We shared an annoyance with the Mainframe and enjoyed our Friday breakfast run with Mary Nazaire. Hoping the family can find peace during this turbulent time.

Tisha was an amazing person to work with, I enjoyed our weekly meetings and having her as a part of my team. She was wise and kind, she was fair and impartial. She loved her team and I always new I could count on her. She always did things the right way with integrity and I appreciate her so much. She was a difference maker and I will miss her deeply. Sincere condolences to the family of Patricia Ann Tietz. May you find comfort in the words of Jesus Christ recorded at John 5:28,29 - “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life ......”. Please look to the future with hope that soon your loved one Patricia will be resurrected to continue her life on a peaceful earth in righteous conditions. So once again, sincere condolences.
Kindest regards
Yvette del Pino
