Steve Lurie was a lifelong friend of mine - and his brother, of course. Steve was always a lot of fun when I was growing up working inside Resnek's Drug Store in Chelsea Square. That's where Steve cut his teeth as a pharmacist. He was generous. He was kind. He was thoughtful. It is distressing that he is gone. He seemed eternally young to me, that part of my life and his life when we were young is now in the distant past. His death is a reminder to us all. We all get old. We all get sick and we all die. I'll miss Steve. He was the real thing. Not many guys like him around anymore.
