Ivy Elizabeth Games met her Savior face to face on April 2, 2018. She was born in Michel, BC Canada on July 6, 1923 to Evan and Elizabeth (Fink) Williams. The family moved to Garden Springs, WA, just outside of Spokane, when Ivy was 3. It was at Garden Spring Christian and Missionary Alliance church that Ivy accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She followed Jesus faithfully the rest of her life. In 1944, she met Howard Games in a Sunday School class at First Baptist of Spokane. After a whirlwind courtship of four weeks, they were engaged. They married at First Baptist on May 24, 1945. Daughter Kathy was born in 1950 and was joined by daughter Claudia in 1953. By then the family had settled in Seattle, WA. Ivy was a homemaker, showing great talent with sewing and tailoring, cooking, and hostessing. She was very involved in the activities of Gatewood Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School, working with Pioneer Girls, serving on various committees including the Women’s Missionary Society, and working with her husband as leaders of the high-school youth group Her impact on the lives of people at Gatewood was far reaching. In 1999, Ivy and Howard moved from Seattle to Salem to be closer to family. By this time dementia was creeping into her life. Even though dementia eventually meant living in a care facility, Ivy never lost her knowledge of her love for her husband and family nor her assurance of salvation through faith. Ivy was predeceased by her parents, Evan and Elizabeth, and her brothers, John and Roderick. She is survived by her sister Kathleen (Jack) Jones of Scottsdale, AZ; husband Howard, daughters Kathy (Brian) Spurgeon of Omaha, NE, and Claudia (Jim) Green of Salem; and granddaughters Kathryn of Salem and Kimberly (Evan Calabrese) of San Francisco as well as several nieces and nephews. A service honoring Ivy’s life will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 at1:00 pm at the Salem First Baptist where she and Howard have been members. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Brookdale Salem for the wonderful care they provided for Ivy over the last nine months of her life. The Missions Program at Salem First Baptist is suggested for memorial contributions, or a charity of choice. Arrangements are by Howell Edwards Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors.

Ivy and Howard would come to our community in Notus, ID every few years. We always would see them at Ivy's relative's house in Notus, sharing homemade ice cream and other treats. Many good memories of the both of them. She is in heaven w her heavenly father and loved ones, and we will see her again. Though, she will be missed here on earth.
