

Marian worked as a cook for many of her earlier years, then she went back to school and received her Associates Degree and became a property assessor. In her later years Marian and her husband Earl operated their own assisted living home. She loved to make dolls and sew clothes for them as well as embroidering. She filled her home with love. We were all blessed to know and love her.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Metta Kuehn; husbands Orville Toftum, Searcy Benford and Earl Baty; five brothers and two sisters and their spouses; and her daughter Diane Nelson.
Marian had five brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her sisters: Mildred Schroeder of Minnesota; Dorothy McCall of Indiana; and LaVonne Liemer of California; her sons Allan (Yausko) Toftum; Keith (Pam) Baty; Donald (Velma) Toftum of Coos Bay, Oregon; Searcy (Buddy) (Benford) Baty of Lakeport, California; Rodney Baty; Dennis Baty; and daughter Barbara Leturno of Lincoln City, Oregon; Debbie Cowan of Salem, Oregon; Linda (Rimm) Beer of Cottage Grove, Oregon; Judy (Randy) Noel of Beaverton, Oregon; Sharon Poling of Anchorage, Alaska. Marian is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Friday, May 18 from 9 am to 1 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm, both at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Belcrest Memorial Park.
