OBITUARY

Heinz Winter

November 3, 1920June 11, 2014

Heinz Winter, beloved father, Opa, brother, and friend, passed on with family at his side on June 11, 2014. At 93 he lived an unbelievably honorable and devoted life, giving all he had and all he was, touching the lives of so many. His triumphs over life’s challenges were many and inspirational to all those who came to know him. Survived by his three children and three grandchildren, and all those he loved to serve and call brothers and sisters near and far. He now reunites with his beloved Gerda, partner in this life and married for 67 years, for their next adventure. We will honor his life through services on Wednesday, June 18, Noon, at the East Millcreek North 1st Ward (3400 So. 2700 E.), followed by procession to Wasatch Lawn Cemetery. We love you and will miss you deeply.

We just now heard of the passing of our beloved 'uncle' Heinz. Trying to reach out for him on his birthday we had to realize that he is no longer with us.
We will always keep his warm and loving way in our memories and enjoy to remember the few times we had the pleasure to spend time with him.
Heinz and Gerda will be very missed and never forgotten.

I grew up in Milwaukee and knew the Winters very well. Heinz was in the bishopric for a period and Eberhard was one of our youth group. Heinz was one of those good, faithful German Mormons in Milwaukee that influenced us for good. My warmest regards to the family.

I stayed with Heinz and Gerda as a child when my mother was sick. They were wonderful and kind to me. Our deepest sympathy to your family.

I will miss seeing Heinz at Le Chateau for Sacrament Meeting. He was always so kind and happy and spiritual. I loved hearing about this life!

I'm so sad to hear this. He and Tante Gerda are part of my childhood memories. They were so good to our family. Rest in peace! Ursula Strangfeld Blonquist

We only knew Brother Winter for a brief time during his stay at Alta Ridge Care Center, but he left a lasting impression on all of the ward members who knew him.

May the Lord bless and comfort your family

We were blessed to be able to meet and share several different happy days with him. You were a man of many stories that were so inspiring, amazing, and just truly interesting. You were a kind man who appeared to have a gentle heart. You are with your beautiful wife Gerda now, and no longer in any pain. You will be truly missed but still loved in spirit. Our condolences to the family. Love Erika & Michael Graham (Step Daughter to Ebe Winter)
