

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on January 6, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 29, 1928 in Salt Lake City to William and Alice Thomas. She graduated from South High School. Maurine married Rodney Elg on June 18, 1948.She was a loving wife and mother, wonderful homemaker and a good cook. She was a stay at home mom who was always available when her children and grand children needed her. She loved spending time with her family at their cabin near Heber City. Her children and grandchildren have fond memories of the times they spent with her at the cabin. She enjoyed doing crafts and needlework and many of her family and friends benefited from her creations. Everyone loved to be around Maurine because she had a great sense of humor that even Alzheimer's could not take away from her.Maurine is preceded in death by her husband Rodney Elg, her parents and six siblings. She is survived by her son Kent Elg, her daughters Terry Hansen (John) and Maralyn Phillips (Gene), six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and her sister Carol Brown (Hugh).Our family would like to thank Community Nursing Services, especially Christina, and the staff at the Wentworth at Willowcreek Memory Care for their tender loving care of our mother.Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 10th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Wasatch Lawn, 3405 South Highland Drive.
