Merilyn and I were Neighborhood friends from 1938. We used to go to conference together for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day- Saints. We spent Sundays walking to Liberty Park, talking and enjoying life together. I also worked at Dunford Bakery just half a block from our homes.

All the years since then, we have been in contact with each other. The last few years when I have been in Ut. Jennifer would bring her Mom to my Daughter’s home and take us to the Red Lobster for lunch. I will always remember those times.

My love also goes to Mel for being such a loving husband. Love always, Evie

Merilyn was a kind and cheerful person and a delight to visit. She loved her family very much. Merilyn was proud of her pioneer ancestors. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and joined in 1958. 61 years! [note to family- you can see her handwritten application at the DUP museum]. Merilyn was much loved by her DUP camp members and friends. I love that she supported Mel in all his scouting activities, and there were many!

Merilyn remembered my children and always asked about them. She made me feel appreciated. Thank you for your light and goodness.

My condolences to the entire Wright family. Our families have been neighbors for so long now. I always appreciated the kindness and generosity Marilyn showed to me as a kid growing up. Her lemon bars that she made are still some of the best I have ever had! She will be remembered and missed you can count on that.
