Dear Miriam and family,

I was on vacation recently and when I returned, my dad told me that President Martin had passed away. My dad had hoped very much to attend the viewing and funeral service but was unable to find the location. (Finding directions and addresses is getting difficult for him these days.) He felt so badly that he missed it. I know he loves Bob Martin! Their bond of friendship and service together in church callings and President Martin's goodness and kindnesses to my parents and our family are great blessings in my dad's life. On behalf of my dad and my family, we send deepest love and praying that you receive comfort and peace. Much love, Lisa Richards Monson

My personal memories of Bob Martin and family include babysitting Jan and Bobby....a LONG time ago!!! Also, when Doug and I married in 1983, "President and Sister Martin" were serving as mission president in Hawaii, where Doug and I were honeymooning. President Martin offered us the mission car to tour around the island while you were on another island for a couple of days......it was a brand new car! It only had 40 miles on it! And then you took us to dinner where we enjoyed a special coconut cake that was SO delicious!!! We were spoiled!!!! I have always felt the love of the Martin family.....really my whole life long! Love to all of you! Love, Lisa
