In Loving Memory:
Verl George Staten Jr. “Jud” passed away from natural causes on May 16, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born to Verl George Staten Sr. and Edna Olga Ebert on June 16, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Granite High School where he graduated in 1944.
After graduation he enlisted in the US Navy where he served his country in World War II on the USS Uvalde. When he returned he married the love of his life Nellie Jean Debenham. He was a traveling man, he loved to be on the road traveling in his motorhome.
He and his wife traveled all over the world together. He also love boating, fishing, sports cars and rebuilding automobiles. Jud enjoyed spending time up at the family cabin he helped build as a young boy up near Brighton Ski Resort in a little town called Silver Fork. He spent many summers up at his mobile home in Manila, Utah fishing and boating at Flaming Gorge. He was a handyman and could fix anything as a hobby he loved to fix and repair cars. Jud worked for 34 years with Mountain Fuel Gas Co. where he
retired in 1981. He loved his family and said that his children always made him smile. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Jean, sons, Larry Verl, Jerel Mark, Rick Douglas, and his daughter Debra Lee (Lorin) Redden, 11 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Hal, Lorin and sister-in-law Mary Staten. Funeral Services will be held on May 20th at 1pm, at Wasatch Lawn 3401 Highland Dr. Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family may come 1 hour prior to service. In lieu
