

She was married to P.E. Dever on August 15, 1944 in Clarendon, TX. After his discharge from the U.S. Navy, they lived in Orange, TX. In 1946 they moved to Plainview where Helen began working at a department store. After 42 years of dedicated service as a buyer with Cobb and Marse and Son, she retired from the women’s fashion department.
In August of 1988, Helen and P.E. moved to Baptist Memorial Retirement Center in San Angelo where she became very active in the Service Auxiliary on campus.
She was a faithful member of the Sarah Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church until health issues prevented her attendance.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband P.E. Dever, parents, Arthur and Clemmie Hudson, a brother, L.A. Hudson and sister Viola Maroney. She is survived by many loving friends and neighbors.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Baptist Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mark Bumpus of First Baptist Church officiating. Interment was at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home.
