Reinaldo Torres

Reinaldo Ojeda Torres was born April 13, 1952 to Jamie and Luciana Torres. He grew up in the small town of Eola where he loved playing baseball with family and friends. On February 8, 1969 he was married to the love of his life, Cleofas Samaniego. They would continue to live in Eola where they raised four loving children. He instilled love, family values and dedication of hard work. He worked at various cotton gins in and around Eola as a truck driver and ginner for many years. In addition, he worked for his father’s business in the wool industry as a sheep shearer. Ray would go on to start his own sheep shearing company where he employed many others for 20 plus years. He also worked as a farmhand for the Kelso & Prosise farm. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Jaime and Luciana Torres; his brothers, Jaime Torres, Jr. and Johnny Torres; his sister, Erminia Luna, and his son, Reinaldo Torres, Jr. who he will be happily reunited with. Those left to cherish his memory are his his loving wife of 52 years, Cleofas; his sons, Robert Torres and wife Sylvia, David Torres and Sheryl Acosta, and daughter Joanna Torres and Sergio Lozano. Ray is also survived by his brother, Fernando Torres and wife Susan; his sisters, Olga Rivera and husband Johnny, Lucy Rivera and husband Jerry, Isabel Rivera and husband Herman; four grandchildren, Robert Torres, Jr., Mariska Torres, Ray Torres, and Felicity Torres as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Torres, Fernando Torres, Robert Torres, Jr., Sergio Lozano, Lupe Luna, and Adam Rivera. Honorary pallbearers will include Candido Guerrero, Freddy Acosta, Johnny Samaniego, and Ray Torres. Ray held a special place in his heart for his nephews, Candido Guerrero, Johnny Samaniego and Jerry Rivera, Jr. Visitation will be held in Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 7-9 PM. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM, Monday, May 3, 2021 in Eola Cemetery.
