Tonie Louise (Day) Welch

Tonie Louise (Day) Welch, age 71, of San Angelo, Texas passed away on Saturday April 7, 2018. Tonie was born February 18, 1947 in Electra, Texas to Mildred Day and Hurchel Day. Tonie graduated from Central High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Angelo State University. Tonie chose a career in education for San Angelo ISD working as a Special Education Teacher Assistant. She was married to Gerald Lee Welch on April 28, 1973, they spent many happy years together before his passing in 1989. Tonie is survived by; son Jerry Welch; and daughter Leslie Maynard; sister Nyoka Gillet; granddaughters Kylie Maynard and Holly Gibbs. She also leaves to cherish her memories numerous nieces and nephews and other family members Tonie was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Welch; father Hurchel Day and mother Mildred Day. A visitation for Tonie will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Johnson's Funeral Home from 6-8 pm with a graveside service following on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, 4989 FM Highway 1223, San Angelo, Texas 76905.
