Alfred P. Martinez, 67, passed away on October 31, 2018. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 16, 1951 to his father and mother, Rudy and Alicia Martinez. Alfred was many things: a great father, a loving brother, great grandfather, and friend. He was always finding new ways to keep busy, baking, cooking, trying new recipes. He was always willing to lend a hand or ear to anyone who needed it, going above and beyond at times. He always had a story for any occasion and could put a smile on anyone’s face with a joke or quip. He was one of the hardest workers and took pride in his 34 years of service with Bill Miller's Bar-B-Q. He never met a stranger, and we all knew on Football Sundays that he would be ready to watch his Cowboys play while munching on frozen Hershey Kisses or Fritos & Cheese Whiz.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Alicia Martinez, and his sister, Ruth Sotello.
He is survived by his father, Rudy S. Martinez; his son, Alfred Patrick Martinez (Maggie); his son, Michael James Martinez (Stella); his daughter, Evelyn Moncada (Mike); his grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew, Christian, Lauren, Julia, James, Nathan, Sarah, Athena, Julius, and Timothy; his great-grandson, Bruce; his brothers, Rudy, Phillip, Roger, and Mark; his sisters, Elizabeth and Esther; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N. Main Ave., on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
