Connie reveled in the simple things, her greatest treasure was her family. She always wanted to be a mother and sacrificed everything for her children. She was frugal. She was the original extreme couponer and was able to tell you where the sales were, who had double and triple coupon days and she often stretched her dollar tenfold to assure her children never went without.
Connie taught her kids to be resilient and instilled in them a strong resolve to overcome anything that came along in life. Her honesty and positivity will live on in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was compassionate, kind hearted, and loved her family and friends unconditionally. She lived each day to the fullest and was able to connect with her family especially her children and grandchildren through Facebook and felt like she was able to be in their daily lives when looking at pictures and reading posts.
Her passion for drawing, painting and writing poetry filled her soul after her children left to start their own families. She often painted cardinals and wrote about dandelions. It was a proud day when a local periodical published her dandelion poem. She was an avid collector of angels and often felt comfort in their presence. We are all comforted by the fact our newest angel is now watching over us.
God loves the dandelion......
God loves the dandelion
just like He does the rose,
He sends it rain and sunshine
and watches as it grows,
people say it's lowly,
that it's only a weed,
but God gives special wings
to every tiny seed,
some of us are dandelions,
some of us are roses,
yet we are all someone special
to a God who never dozes.
