Douglas ‘Mike’ Boubel, age 65, of San Antonio, Texas passed away at his home on Monday, March 19, 2018. He was born July 25, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas to George J Boubel, Sr. and the late Florence Evelyn (Alley) Boubel. He retired from AT&T as Senior Network Manager after 37 years. In his youth, he was a great athlete; he played on a traveling 4A major softball team, having won several golden glove awards. His proudest accomplishments in life were the character and successes of his children Ryan and Nicole. His family will miss his humor and sarcasm, but most of all the bravery he displayed during his long illness. He is survived by his wife, Alice, of 39 years; children, Ryan (Christie); Nicole (Fiance Joey); father, George Boubel Sr.; siblings, George Boubel, Jr., Margo Harrison, Mark Boubel,, granddaughter, Brooklyn Boubel, numerous nephews and nieces and close friends. Family will receive friends during his visitation on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 5:00pm -7:00pm at Sunset North Funeral Home. Rosary service will begin at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 10:00 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 20503 Huebner Rd., San Antonio, TX 78258. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Scleroderma Foundation. Alice & family sorry to here about the loss of Mike he will be missed very much he was a real fighter. When having a bad day just think of all the good memories you have of him on the things you'll did together as a family, he a peace right now. Alice you really took good care of him until the end I no it will be heard at first but you did a great job helping him out when he was sick take good care of yourself he will be watching over you'll from heaven take care of your . I am so sad to hear about your husband, Alice, and your dad, Ryan and Nicole. I loved looking at all of the pictures you posted. Let those be the memories that will get you through these hard times. I remember the laughs we shared at Holy Spirit, Alice, and getting to teach both of you, Ryan and Nicole. You were such smart and wonderful kids! My prayers are with all of you!
