Herbert C. Schulmeier

Herbert Christian Schulmeier, 98 years young, arrived in heaven Sunday, July 22, 2018 in New Braunfels, TX. He was born August 13, 1919 in Wetmore, TX to Henry and Bertha Schulmeier. At heavens gates, Herbert was happily reunited with his wife of 54 years, Evelyn M. Wehe Schulmeier, as well as many loved ones who passed before him (including three brothers and two sisters). He is survived by his son: Elgin Schulmeier (Rhonda); grandchildren: Kenneth Schulmeier (Laura), Lynette Hill (Dwayne); great grandchildren: Kristy McKenzie (Schulmeier), Justin Schulmeier, Kimberly Hill Grundman; four great great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

Herbert’s labor of love was farming – he plowed, planted, & harvested his fields, maintained equipment and fences, chased wayward cattle, and called them home every night. JOHN 10:3-4. When the hard work was done for the day, he was happiest eating a family meal, playing cards, or polka dancing the night away.

Visitation: Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Friday, July 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Beitel Memorial Lutheran Church, 2515 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Texas 78218.

Entombment: Sunset Memorial Park immediately following funeral service.
