Michelle, My deepest sympathy to you on the loss of your husband. He was such a good man and loved you so much. The best memories of my life as an ER nurse included him. He was a great Doctor not just because of his knowledge but because of his kindness and humor. He spoke of you and the girls often and always asked about my family. My prayers are with you. Penny

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Pop. For several years (until my retirement in 2016), I was privileged to work with him at DeTar North ER. Although he was the physician supervisor for North and was "my boss" I never thought of him that way. He was, however, a mentor and friend. And his suggestions and directions were always welcome. His compassion for patients was unfailing and at times I marveled at just how much he cared. There's the old saying--"people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care"; well, Dr. Pop not only knew a lot but he also cared a lot. I will truly miss him. He would always kid me about how much older I was than him although my DOB preceded his by only about 3 weeks. Anyway, goodbye Pop--you are missed. Ralph Day, M.D.

I worked ER with Dr. Pop in Beeville, Texas. The hospital there had contracts with several prisons in the area, and was the only hospital for miles around. To say were busy some nights, would be an understatement. But Dr. Pop always had our backs. He taught us, helped answer phones, set up suture trays, and through it all he made us laugh. He always brought music, and introduced me to artists that have become favorites. He was so proud of his wife and daughters, and always asked about our families. It's been many years since, but he was a doctor AND a man that one doesn't forget. My deepest sympathy to his family and to all his many friends who mourn him.

To family and loved ones of Dr Pop,

I met Dr Pop in Beeville texas where I started my emergency room experience he was always willing to teach me even when it was nuts in the ER. He was always amazing with patients no matter the situation the last time I saw him I had a MVA and ended in the ER at Detar weird way to see each other after a few years of not seeing each other he joked around with me to ease my anxiety of the accident. You will be missed sir but thank you for being an amazing mentor and friend.
Always

I met Dr Pop in 1994 while working as a new LVN at Edgar B Davis Hospital in Luling. Dr Pop was always patient and so much fun to work with. He taught me a lot and I will always remember him as such a genuine person. We quoted lines from Raising Arizona and every time I watch it, I think of him. My condolences to the family. Rest in Peace Dr Pop.

To Dr.Pop’s family and friends. I knew of Dr.Pop through his daughter and grandson’ s pictures and stories/until today. After reading the thoughts and prayers of his friends and coworkers I feel the loss in a special way. As a nurse and friend I know the special care he gave to those in his life will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace Dr. Pop and live on in our hearts and lives.

My earliest memories of the Poplawsky family goes back many years from raiding Dot's kitchen, working at Normans, music, and motorcycles. Years later we were wade fishing on the gulf, and having adventures in the Colorado Mountains. We loved our time with Jim and Michelle last summer in Colorado. It will take some time to process your untimely departure, but your legend and many laughs live on.

Our condolences to the Poplawsky Family both East and West. We will miss you, "We Love You Man."
