

Marilynn Jane Weeber, age 83 went to be with our Lord and Savior December 24, 2004. She was born March 9, 1921 in Ashland, Ohio to parents Carlos and Opal Gorham. Upon completion of Ashland High School and her education and training as a Registered Nurse, she joined the U. S. Navy Nurse Corps in 1942 during WWII, serving in Naval Hospitals in Pennsylvania, Idaho and California where she met and married Charles A. Weeber, also in the U. S. Navy on March 27, 1945.
Upon discharge after WWII she and her husband moved to San Antonio, Texas where she continued her nursing career and began a family. Marilynn is survived by her husband, Charles A. Weeber "Buddy", two daughters, Kismet Weeber of Sarasota, FL, and Merrily Jane Weeber of Los Angeles, CA; son, James C. Weeber of Sausalito, CA; sister and husband, Vivian and Carl Blake of Ashland, OH; brother, Jack Gorham of Syracuse, N.Y. and many cousins, nieces and nephews throughout the country.
Marilynn was active in leadership roles in her children's school P. T. A's, the Bexar county Mental Health and Mental retardation Agency, the Methodist Women's groups in the Jefferson and Coker Untied Methodist Churches. She was a founding member and over 30 years volunteer of the S.W. Texas Methodist Hospital's Blue Bird group. Her pride and joy was active membership in the St. Mary's University Junior Guild, an organization started by the wives of veteran's going to college after WWII and continuing today.
