Marion was a devoted mother who was very much loved by her family. She is survived by her two sons, Robert (along with his wife, Margi), and Glenn (along with his wife, Janet). She was also a beloved grandmother, adored by her grandchildren Kelly, Robert, April, Doug, Steve and Laura, and great-grandchildren Jake, Clare, Harper and Audrey.
She came to the United States when she was only 19 years old and worked hard to learn English by listening to popular music. It was a proud day when she took and passed the citizenship test to become an American citizen. She was very proud of her German heritage and even more proud of being an American citizen.
She worked hard for most of her adult life and stressed the importance of always striving to do your best to her two sons.
She enjoyed reading and had a very inquisitive mind. She also enjoyed spending time with her dogs who loved her as much as she loved them. She was an avid knitter and through the years, gave gifts to her family of the many sweaters and quilts she made.
Her neighbors cared about her and always looked out for her. The family is especially grateful to Pat and Jerome Klar, Jennifer and Charlie Shodrock, and Dan Draper for their many years of loyalty and friendship to Marion.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on November 15, 2018 at 10AM at St. Thomas More Church, 4411 Moana Dr., San Antonio, TX 78218.
