Betty graduated from Jefferson High School and Monticello College in Alton, IL., then attended UT in Austin.

She was actively involved with the Jr. League, Battle of Flowers, San Antonio Country Club, San Antonio Fiesta Commission and was president of Veinte y Uno Investment Club.
Betty was an avid golfer, her motto was: "Golf is a Game, enjoy it, play fast and take care of the golf course".
She also loved the Chicago Cubs and Texas Longhorns-Hook'em! Her other favorite pastimes were fishing at Port A and dove hunting.
