Maxine Dzierzanowski Christiansen
Our sweet and loving Maxine Dzierzanowski Christiansen, age 88, born December 6th, 1935 in San Antonio was called to be with our Lord on November 1st, 2023. Maxine was a graduate of St. Gerard High School, Class of 1954, and devoted many years of her life to a successful career in accounting until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd Christiansen, daughter Paula Crews, and parents Michael and Christine Dzierzanowski.
She is survived by her children Gary Christiansen of San Antonio, TX and Rhonda Kahn (Michael) of Corpus Christi, TX; 2 grandsons Brandon Kahn and Kevin (Miranda) Kahn and 2 precious great-grandchildren Claire and Crue Kahn; and brother Clifton Dzierzanowski.
Maxine will be deeply missed by all those who shared their lives with her and held her in their hearts. She personified the very essence of maternal love, care, and kindness to all who were in her presence. She was the true embodiment of nurturing and wholeheartedly committed to God’s work. Her memory endures through her steadfast love and dedication to serving the Lord, actively participating in the church as a Eucharistic minister. Maxine cherished moments spent with her family and friends, as well as her time devoted to baking. Maxine’s pies earned many blue ribbon awards and delighted all who had the pleasure of sampling.
Visitation hours have been scheduled from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, November 13th at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, located at 6321 Bandera Rd., San Antonio, TX with a Rosary Service being held at 7:00 PM. The Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, November 14th at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou, San Antonio, TX, with Reverend Msgr. Michael O'Gorman presiding as Celebrant. Following the Mass, Interment will take place at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, Shelter 4, at 10:30 AM, with a reception to follow at St. Luke Catholic Church. The Mass of the Resurrection will also be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/STLUKESANANTONIO/ (Facebook account not necessary).
