OBITUARY

Richard G. Davila

January 17, 1936September 26, 2021

Richard G. Davila was born to Eternal Life on September 26th, 2021 at his home in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. He transitioned to the next life peacefully, surrounded by his devoted family.

Born January 17th, 1936 to Ben and Manuela Davila, Richard was an avid adventurer who had a zest for life, a passion for helping his family and others and touched the lives of all who knew him. In the United States Marine Corps, he proudly served his country both home and abroad.

He married the love of his life, Gloria Rios Davila, in 1964 and the two raised a loving daughter, Cynthia, and were wholly dedicated to her in all aspects of her life. Being an ardent traveler, Richard would take his family on vacations throughout the country by land, sea and air as he was both an airplane and helicopter pilot and owned his own boat. When he explored the open road alone, he loved to ride his Harley Davidson or one of his many unique sports cars. Among his many talents was dancing where he shared his expertise as an instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. In life and in dance, he found the perfect partner in Gloria as the pair danced together often.

Richard found a fulfilling and rewarding career working as an Electrician Specialist for The Aerospace Corporation where he worked for forty-four years. His responsibilities were plentiful as he worked on many military, civilian and governmental projects that involved missions to space.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Julia Bloomingdale and Margaret Betancourt; brothers Henry Davila Sr. and Edward Davila.

He is survived by his loving wife Gloria Ann (Rios) Davila; daughter Cynthia Ann (Davila) Czarnecki (Derek) and other family members and friends.

Among his family and friends, he was famously known for his strength and endurance. When asked where he got them from, he always pointed up and said simply, “God”. May he rest in Loving, Eternal Peace.
