He was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 14, 1930 and graduated Parker High School in June, 1947.
In June, 1948, Robert accepted a position at American Can Company in Chicago. He transferred to San Antonio, Texas in June, 1957. In August of that year he married his wife, Sylvia at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
Robert worked for the American Can Company for 40 years and then retired.
Robert greatly enjoyed many things including, dancing at The Farmer’s Daughter, reading, watching westerns on TV (especially Gunsmoke), travelling vacations, and visits from family and friends. He was quick with a smile and a laugh. His humorously wit was funny and unmatched as well as his hearty laughter. He also enjoyed the company of his faithful 4 legged companion, Jewels, his dog.
He is preceded in death by his wife Sylvia Christian, parents, and 5 sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Paula Bading and husband Damien, son Darren Christian; grandchildren, Robert Nealy, Jennifer Nealy, Christopher Nealy; greatgrandchildren, Jordan Gammage, Madison Breeden, Draven Nealy, Axl Nealy, several nieces and nephews, and loving neighbor Ruth Rand.
