Born in Tokyo, Japan, on March 1, 1930, Kiyoko worked as a bookkeeper for a Tokyo electric company following high school.
She married James Braswell, and moved to the United States in the late 1950's. Kiyoko and Jim settled in San Bernardino in 1964. Kiyoko worked for Lily Tulip for almost 30 years. After retirement, Kiyoko enjoyed spending time with Jim, their children and grandchildren, Kiyoko was famous for her Chinese chicken salad, wry sense of humor, love of cats, and wise words. She loved to corner her children and grandchildren and ask them tough questions about life.
She is survived by her loving daughters Louise Martin, her husband Chris Martin, and their children, Jessica, Daniel, Jordan, and Davis; Mary Braswell, her husband Warren Wolfswinkel, and their son Will; Lisa Braswell and her husband Michael Gonos; two sister and one brother in Japan; and many kind friends and neighbors.
Kiyoko was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 53 years; and her parents and three brothers in Japan.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm Monday, January 21, at Mt. View Mortuary, 570 E. Highland Ave, San Bernardino, Interment at a later date at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside.
