Carol Lucile Williams May 22, 1942 – June 2, 2020

Carol Lucile Williams died on June 2, 2020 at the age of 78 years old. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and was a lifelong Cornhusker football fan. She earned a BA degree at the University of Nebraska, a MSW degree at the University of Denver and a MPH degree at the University of California at Berkeley.

In 1969 she moved to Northern California and lived in San Francisco, Oakland, El Cerrito, Berkeley, Vallejo and Vacaville. She was employed by the County of Solano, first as supervisor of Children’s Protective Services, then as supervisor of Adult Protective Services and In-Home Supportive Services until her retirement in 1998. After retiring she worked part time for the county for 13 years.

Carol loved living in the Bay Area close to Berkeley and San Francisco. She was an avid filmgoer, preferring foreign and independent films. Ethnic restaurants were always her favorite places to eat.

Her passion for travel developed early in life from family camping trips. In her later years she was able to travel to 60 countries and visit all 50 states.

Carol is survived by her two sisters, Alice Wiechert (Robert) and Dorothy Williams, her niece, Renée, her nephew, Eric and wife Corena, and their three children in Lincoln, Nebraska, and her California family, her Goddaughter Sheila Webster (Vincent) and their son Dominique.

Her cremated remains are to be divided between the Neptune Society’s Columbarium in San Francisco and Wyuka Cemetery, a family cemetery plot in Lincoln, Nebraska. Memorial donations may be made to homeless shelters, food banks, American Red Cross, Doctors without Borders and UNICEF. Celebrations of Carol’s life will be held at a later date.
