1913 to 2021
Rosalie was born to Consiglia and Salvatore Vinciguerra during the summer of 1913. She was the second of five sisters, one of whom died in infancy. Her family lived on Manhattan’s Lower East Side (she proudly dubbed it The United Nations), but moved to Brooklyn after her mother’s death. It was in Brooklyn that she met and married Mike (Matteo) D’Amico, who passed away in 1986. Their marriage lasted more than 50 years, during which time they raised three children (Michael II, William and Carol), and eventually moved their family from Brooklyn to Long Island (Lynbrook and then Malverne). Several years after her husband passed away, Rosalie moved to a son’s home in Mill Valley, California, and eventually into San Francisco. She passed away in May at the Jewish Home of San Francisco, where she had lived for over 14 years.
Rosalie left behind a plethora of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren. She had a creative, energetic and vibrant personality, was active in community organizations, and adored spending time with her grandchildren.
A funeral mass for Rosalie is scheduled for June 26, 2021. She will be interred with her husband at Saint Charles the Redeemer Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York. Sent from my iPhone
