Dear Anh Hoang,
There is a saying, “A Friend Is Like A Star, You Don't Always See Them, But They Are Always There.”
When we were kids, you often came to visit my family; But I was busy with “Đi bắt lăn quăng” and my other mundane activities. The young ladies in my neighborhood often asked, “Who is that? He is so handsome. He looks like a prince.” I just said, “He is my cousin.” I then went on to play. I never paid attention to you, and I thought that you don’t even know me. However, last year I was in a difficult situation, my sister mentioned that you might be able to help. You came like the Sirius Star to shine for me in the darkness of life. You have been always there shining brightly with beautiful smile. I could not see, because I wasn’t in the darkest night. I am grateful for my difficult, because I get to know you. No matter where you are, I know you are the Sirius Star, the brightest star in Earth’s night sky that shines hope continuously on us.
I am grateful to know you. May be next time when you come, I will not busy with “bắt lăn quăng” . Take care, Anh Hoang. May God be with you till we meet again.

Hoang will always be remembered for his infectious smile, the twinkles in his eyes and the optimistic view of the world. For the short two years I know him, I learned to appreciate him more each time we met. The last time we met, he fondly showed me a picture of his small childhood house where his parents and his siblings lived when they first came to the US from Vietnam. They had nothing but the determination to achieve the American dreams and the love and support for each other. Hoang, you came to this country with little but left behind much. You have many professional achievements, but your biggest achievements are the friends you made and the many people you helped. You are forever missed and forever remembered.

Chu Hoang was one of a kind.
He helped me finding my internship in the US and made the process of me moving to California possible.

Over there, he greeted me with kindness, wits and humor. Traits I always admired him for and what made him so popular with everyone.

Chu Hoang was able to walk tall even in face of hardship. I will always remember him for the lessons he taught me by living them.

May he rest in piece.

In love,

Khoa

Dear anh,

It was and is still difficult to believe this. I had to reach out to chi Loan before I accepted it.

Last time we met, it was in San Jose, 2013 when the 2 companies were being merged. It was a busy and challenging time for you but when you knew I was in San Jose, you said you will take me out for a good coffee. I remember we were sitting outside of the coffee shop as you said you liked fresh air and nature. It was a bit cold but sun shone over our faces. You told me you have done everything you could, and for now you will relax and see what is going to happen.

I had known you in different capacities in your professional life, depending on what role you needed to play. But it was the first time, I saw a different person, a real anh Hoang that I had a privilege to know. A considerate, calm, vulnerable but honest with open heart. And I loved you for being that person.
Later on when I decided to leave the company, I told you I had 2 options, 2 directions to take which would bring me to a complete different life. You told me: Take the tough one - which I did.

You had played an important part of many people's lives including mine.

Good bye anh. You will be missed dearly.
