After a difficult pregnancy, I was about to go on maternity leave and went to work on a saturday to finish some things for my job. While driving home on H280 going over the SB101 bridge, a very drunk driver tried to pass me in Johns truck. Chevy, three on the tree with a cover. The other driver had corvette, and had to emergency brake and spun out and hit me which caused me to spin. I wound up in the opposite direction in oncoming traffic. his car was in shreds but he drove home, didn't want the police called because it was his fathers vet. no police. Got home and John was there but i couldn't speak, Just cry. He was sooo upset and wanted to go to the guys house. Protective of his family and friends. Memories last forever!

John, you will be greatly missed. I've known John since High School days where he was one of my brother, Lance's best friends. You remained close friends with Lance for the past 40 years or so and I appreciate your friendship to him. If anyone ever needed anything you were always the one they came to. Rest in Peace, my friend and we will always remember your friendship and support. You truly were one of the good guys that people were blessed to call a friend.

Bob & I first met John in 1980. He and his family were our next door neighbors. He always smiled & said hello. Soon we met his fiance Denise and fell in love with her! I'll never forget their wedding. Then, cute little Jamie came along. Denise & John were devoted & loving parents. Gone too soon. John will be missed.
RIP John Schurr. ❤

I remember a saying John would say when things went wrong or looked bad. *IT WILL BE OK. THINGS WILL WORK OUT". It always made you feel better and hopeful. He was the kindess man I ever met. He is already so missed. Breaks my heart.

My daughter, Jamie asked me while she was going through so many pictures to share, "mom do you really remember all these moments?" yes, I answered.
I remember meeting up with good friends in Shasta. Thank goodness John brought tarps . Started raining and didn't stop Remember a night hike in the dark and the muddy terrain. Laughed lots

I first met John almost 10 years ago at Siglers and his first remark when I met him was "Hey Bubba how are you?" John had such a huge heart and always put people before himself. He always knew I loved the king egg rolls that he would bring from San Jose to our office in Concord, he made sure that I got some every time. I truly will miss his smile, positive attitude, and chats we had about how good or bad the SF Giants were going to be this year.

Rest in peace my friend. I look forward to the day that I will see your smiling face again.

John was a friend as well as a business associate for many years. John was always upbeat and jolly. I will miss him.
He was a super hard worker and managed to get many things done at the same time.
RIP my friend. You were a class act!
