Doris was born October 23, 1924 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Doris and Charles met at Brevard College, married on January 1, 1945, and settled in Atlanta. They moved to Sandy Springs in 1959. She was an active member of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church for many years. She then became a member of Coosa United Methodist Church in Blairsville, Georgia. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, crafting and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McClure Dotson, her parents, William Lester Caudle and Beulah Nance Caudle, brothers, Yates Caudle and Theron Caudle, and a granddaughter, Whitney Johnston. She is survived by her three children, Jeannie (Mack) Johnston, Stephen (Carol) Dotson, and Connie (Debbie) Dotson. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Caudle, and sisters, Ava Hunnicutt, Ann Wallace, Carol Brewer, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy NE followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. at the same location. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
