Mrs. Dorothy Mae Thompson, 97, a resident of Sandy Springs, formerly of Wilton Manors, Florida died on Monday, the 3rd of August 2015. A very proud native of Buffalo, New York, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Edward Charles Thompson, Sr., and son, Edward Charles Thompson, Jr. Mae was an avid bowler who always brought out the best in people. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Mae Christie and Craig Christie; grandchildren, Heather Webb of Atlanta, Melissa Hutton of Napa Valley, CA, Ryan Thompson of Tamarac, FL; and great-grandchildren, Branford Webb, Lily Mae Webb, and Frankie DeJesus. Private family services will be conducted to honor Mrs. Thompson’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia State Office, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346, Attention: Dave Houston, VP of Development.
