Witting, David Bryan, born July 24, 1963 (age 53), of Santa Ana, passed away Sept. 29, 2016. It was an unexpected, tragic loss due to complications from a pre-existing heart condition. David was raised in Santa Ana (4th generation of Orange County families) & graduated from S.A. Valley High in 1982; JV football, jazz band & excelled in wood, welding & auto shop. Many knew him as 'Duster Dave' for racing his red '73 Plymouth Duster. David was mechanically minded from a young age & further developed his skills working alongside his grandfather, in Jim's restaurant repair business. David often said he learned everything he knew of repairs & mechanics from his grandfather. He later worked in auto part sales & was a gifted mechanic & repairman. David loved spending time with his son, Nicholas, helping him build many projects for Boy Scouts & school. He will be remembered as a dedicated father, brother, uncle & friend. He selflessly helped raise Nicholas' older sister, Ashley Sands; their mother Pamela. He was a friendly, kind, humorous man, who always went out of his way to help others. He will be forever in our hearts. His grandparents, Jim & Twila Little; mother, Dixie Witting; & brother, Bill Witting predecease him. He is survived by his son, Nicholas Witting; sister, Debbie Lyons; brother-in-law, Dan; nieces, Danielle & Deanne; & father, William Witting. A memorial service will be held at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana on Thursday Oct. 20, 2016 at 2:30 pm, followed by a graveside service.
