Wendelyn "Wendy" Joyce Flores, 83 of Orange, California passed away on June 6th, 2021 at home. She was born to Wendell and Ivy Beardslee on June 28th, 1937 in Long Beach, California. Wendy was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished mother. Wendy followed her life-long passion in nursing and after 29 years of loyal service, retired as a Registered Nurse from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Her innate desire to assist others would lead her into Stewardship within the A.F.G.E. Union's Local 1061 for 36 years. In earlier years, Wendy's love for horses would manifest into managing her own equestrian stable for hire. She possessed a myriad of talents ranging from singing in her family's quartet, performing in community events to line dancing, clogging, and square dancing with her husband, Gilbert and to her family's delight would play her musical organ. Her hobbies included; crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, and crossword puzzles. Wendy is survived by her sister, Patricia Roman; husband, Gilbert Flores; her children, Randy and Robin Rook; her nephews, Lester Hendricks and Noe Roman Jr.; and her nieces, Lisa Landrau and Misty Colucci.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 18th, 2021 at the Trinity Episcopal Church of Orange, 2400 North Canal Street, Orange, California, 92865
