William “Bill” Nothwang Jr., 83 years old, of Orange, CA, passed away on August 5, 2020 peacefully at home. Bill was born in Centralia, WA on May 22, 1937 to Bill and Maxine Nothwang. He was the oldest of 4 sons, Keith, Larry, and Jerry. They were raised in Springfield, OR. Bill enjoyed fishing on the McKenzie River and considered it “His” river!
Bill graduated cum laude from Long Beach State, with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting. He worked in accounting his whole life, as Corporate Controller, for International House of Pancakes (69-71), Electronic Memories and Magnetics Corp (71-78) and Pacific Scientific Corp (78-97).
He met and married Mary Martin, in CA, in 1958. They raised two daughters, Dianne and Debbie, in La Mirada, CA for 22 years. He remarried in 1981, Geri Peabody, who he met while working at Pacific Scientific. They have been married 39 years.
Bill and Geri enjoyed travelling back and forth to their retirement home along the McKenzie River, in Vida, Oregon, where he liked to fish, hike and pick berries, but would return to Orange, CA, where he enjoyed gardening and Geri played the church organ at First Christian Church of Orange.
He is survived by his wife, Geri Nothwang (Orange, CA), Brother, Larry Nothwang (Sandusky, OH), Jerry Nothwang (Portland, OR), Daughter, Dianne Sinnett (Coeur d’Alene, ID), Daughter, Debbie Ridgley (Blue River, OR) and 7 grandchildren: Alissa Case, Alan Sinnett, Ben Sinnett, Bethany Sinnett, Mary Sinnett, Kevin Ridgley and Bryant Ridgley.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 on August 13, 2020 at Fairhaven Memorial Park, in Santa Ana, CA.
