Richard “Joe” Yurosko died peacefully at his Los Gatos home with family by his side. In his early life, Joe lived in San Francisco. After his graduation from Menlo High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force, where he trained to be an airline mechanic; that training allowed him long term employment with United Airlines at SFO. This is where he met his life-long friend, Pat Alameda. A dedicated family man, Joe was completely committed to his large, blended family and took great pride in his 'tribe'; He was immensely proud of his eight children: his boys, Steven (deceased), David, Robert, Jeffery (deceased); his step-kids, Donna, Julie, Nancy, and Matt. He also adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe looked forward to, and welcomed all who came to his humble home that he shared with the love of his life, Marie. During their nearly fifty years together, Joe was the anchor and took his role as our patriarch very seriously. He was old school, leading the family mealtime prayer at every gathering. Along with his immediate family, Joe touched the hearts of many others in the groups of close friends and relations he had; Christ Child Catholic Church, Italian Catholic Federation, and his Montevina neighborhood. Joe’s passing leaves a large emptiness in the lives of those who love him; he will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be held January 13, 2024, followed by a private interment.
