Bea was predeceased by her husband, Hank, on May 26, 2016; survived by her children, Ann Burke (Bill) of Bradenton, FL, Dawn Powell (David) of Huntingdon Valley, PA and Richard Bechtold of Dover, NH; her grandchildren, Carolyn (Reed), Joy (Kevin), Faith (Jonathan), Brian, Pamela (Rob), Jennifer and Gregory; and her seven great-grandchildren, Josh, Nate, Lola, Jayce, Stella, Rigel and Torin.
Bea was born and raised in the New York City area. Bea spent most of her life in New York before moving with her husband to St. Petersburg, FL in the late 1980’s. Bea was a very active member of the Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club as well as an active member of the community.
Bea was a very devoted mother and grandmother, as well as a true friend. Nothing was more important to her than her family. Bea was an avid golfer, loved music, travel, any kind of card or board game, and on any given day you could most likely find her in the hot tub at the pool area at Isla Del Sol. Her real love was to head over to the beach any chance she could get. Pass-A-Grille on St. Pete Beach was her favorite spot and became a very special place for all the children and grandchildren, as well. Her beautiful smile will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
When circumstances permit, there will be a family service held at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL where she will be laid to rest with her husband who served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Many thanks to Discovery Village at Sarasota Bay and Tidewell Hospice for their constant care and support.
