June 9, 1925 – January 11, 2019
On the morning of January 11, 2019, Doris Barr went home to be with the Lord. The world lost an amazing woman, but she is in a better place now; no more suffering. Though hard for those left behind, she’d been looking forward to meeting God for a long time, as well as reuniting with her son, Glenn Barr, her sister Eleanor, her mother Lillian, and her father Harold. Doris spent her final 15 years living in the Sunshine State, Florida, but previously resided in New York, and was a member of the Rushford Baptist Church for many years. She was such a strong woman, who never complained, was always joyful, and helped many throughout her 93 years on this earth. She was happily married 77 years, and is survived by her loving husband, Charles Barr, her daughter, Linda Benedict, and her two grandchildren, Glen Benedict, and Shana Benedict Johnson. Doris will be missed by many; she is now dancing in heaven, which she looked forward to for many years.

Doris was a dear friend who took me under her wing when I was a baby Christian. We would walk while she would help me memorize scriptures. She was so full of godly wisdom and shared it with me. She gave me a book named "Lord Change Me" that definitely helped me in my walk.
I always sat with Bud and Doris at Sunday night service and sang my favorite hymn "Because He Lives".
Thank You Doris and see you again someday.

I’m not good at this online memorials, but want to say the way I met Doris was at Hawaiian Village bible study and church services there . She expressed her faith in God with love and appreciated the ideas and words of others who loved Jesus . She knew the Lord would “see us through” and was assured He knew about our cares and concerns . Those of us in the group loved to hear her faith in God as she prayed with faith believing.
