Lorraine’s steadfast faith in her loving Heavenly Father became sight when she was welcomed Home on June 16, 2021. Her love for her Lord and dependence on Him was evident in all that she did.
Lorraine was born in Bad Axe, Michigan, the first-born child of Edward and Leta Maust. She was raised on their farm in Bayport, Michigan and, in her younger days, she helped her family on the farm and enjoyed caring for and helping with childcare for other families. After leaving Michigan, both she and her parents split their time between Ohio and Florida. They spent their summers in Ohio, with her brother and his family, helping on their farm, and then winters in Florida for the benefit of her mother’s health. After a little over 15 years, they decided to stay permanently in Sarasota, Florida.
Lorraine loved greeting cards. In each place they lived, she was known to have a little card shop within their home, where she would purchase and make beautiful cards that she hoped would make a difference in other’s lives. Anyone who knows Lorraine, knows that she LOVES flowers! Especially Orchids. And she was very specific about the colors and kinds that she wanted to have at her house. She had an easy green thumb and anything you brought her, she could rearrange, use and even sprout to enjoy for as long as possible.
Lorraine gave her heart to the Lord when she was a young girl. She was an active member of the churches she attended in both Michigan and Ohio, and then settled at Sarasota Community Church (Formerly Bahia Vista Mennonite) when they were in Sarasota. She loved hearing God’s Word from their pulpits.
Lorraine was proceeded in death by both her parents, Edward & Leta Maust of Sarasota, Florida, and her Brother, Leslie “Les” Maust of Plain City. Ohio. Lorraine is survived by her sister-in-law, Joan Maust of Plain City, Ohio as well as her niece & nephew, Sandra Howard and Nathan Maust of Dublin, Ohio.
