William M. Herman, 51, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Tidewell Hospice Center in Sarasota. Calling hours Friday, 2-13 6:00 to 8:00 at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral Mass Saturday 2-14-15 10:00 AM Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church Osprey. Born in Pompton Plains, NJ, Mr. Herman grew up in New Jersey and Upstate New York. He spent his childhood skiing, fishing, and riding his horse. As a young adult, he settled in NJ where he began to raise a family. William had a successful career as a master cabinet maker before moving to Sarasota where he began a career in Law Enforcement. William is survived by two children, his son William Herman, and daughter Kimberly Herman Rizzo, his father , William M. Herman, Sr., sister Carol Slywka (Johnny), also survived by the mother of his children Elizabeth Herman. William was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Herman .
