My Mother Anita Trapler was born May 25th 1945 in Edmonton, Alberta. As an only child she grew up between Edmonton and Swift Current, Saskatchewan. She met my father Wilford Trapler while in University at the U of A; where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching. She loved children and enjoyed mentoring and teaching students of all ages all throughout my early childhood; she was especially fond of literature and loved teaching english. Both herself and my father moved to Victoria, B.C., where I grew up and spent most of my childhood and adolescence. She supported my father in all his passions: gardening, livestock raising, on a small hobby farm they had access to, as well as travelling as a family. Both my mother Anita and my father had many health challenges over the years. My mother especially fought with chronic depression and mental health issues. She was a fighter who overcame great adversity both within and external factors to provide a stable home for myself and my father. I am my mother's only child and I can testify that she was deeply loved and admired. She provided a safe home, warmth and love all throughout my early years and into adulthood. She was always proud of my achievements and lived vicariously through my adventures. She was a bright light for many, many people in her time with us. I, all throughout my life, heard nothing but glowing admiration from friends and family for what a nice lady and bright light my Mom was. My mother Anita, succumbed to illness on November 26th at her care home and with urgent care provided by the wonderful staff at the Royal University Hospital Emergency Room and under the care of the Amazing Staff of ward 6200 Medicine at RUH, she fought for a total of almost two weeks, passing peacefully in her room the morning of Saturday, December 9th 2023. My mother was predeceased by my father Wilford Trapler almost 10 years ago and now she has finally found her own peace. Being very spiritual and of the Lutheran Faith, I know she felt blessed to have Pastor Iris say a prayer at the bedside for her prior to her passing. I am thankful for Pastor Iris for that care. She is at peace now and I think she would want to believe she can join my father in her heaven. I will think of you always Mom. You are leaving behind your son Kurt Trapler as well you will be missed by Bora Cho, my love and partner these many years. Please know that Sarah Cho as well will miss you, she drove here urgently from Calgary to say good-bye. Be at Peace and Rest. Love Your Son, Kurt. There will be a Service of Remembrance for Anita at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday December 16, 2023 at Acadia Funeral Chapel (915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon). Arrangements entrusted to Travis Minor.
