Lon died peacefully in Saskatoon on March 19, 2020 at the age of sixty-six after a courageous battle with ALS. Lonnie is survived by his wife Lyndi and three sons: Jordan (Shawn), Jeremy (Jillian) and Jaret (Randi); his grandchildren: Alicia, Reise, Charlie, Claire, Joshua, Grayson and Jasper; sisters Leanne (Mel) Prokop and Alana (Kelly) Cornwell; brother Randy (Nancy) Doucette; sisters-in-law Gayla (Dave) Forsyth and Betty Mae Owen; Aunt Marion and his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother and father Allan and Lois Piller. Lonnie was born and raised in Melville then married the love of his life and moved to Saskatoon in 1973. Lonnie was passionate about everything he did and his highest priority never wavered from spending time sharing love for his family. He spent most of his career working for the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation where he displayed the same passion for making a difference. Lonnie was a very active member of his community, volunteering for organizations such as the community association, Scouts and minor sports. He was incredibly passionate about being a coach and a leader for his own children and later became the biggest fan of all his grandchildren at their activities. He took great pride in being a member of the Kinsmen Club where he found others with the same desire to serve that he had. In his spare time, (which wasn't much even after retirement,) Lonnie adored the game of golf but most of all loved spending endless hours making his yard look amazing. Lonnie and Lyndi treasured their time spent travelling together and with their friends. In consideration of the current restrictions on gatherings, the family will be holding an intimate service at this time and a celebration of Lonnie's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to organizations very dear to Lonnie's heart, Telemiracle Foundation or the ALS Society. Arrangement in care of Mandi Wersch Acadia McKague's Funeral Centre. 306-955-1600.
