JANCKE, Peter- Peacefully at home Tuesday, July 28, 2020 with family and friends by his side. We regretfully announce the passing of our dad, Opa, brother and uncle Peter Jancke at the spry age of 62.

After a brief but very courageous battle with cancer he is now gone to have a good time with his sister Cathy, parents Ilse and Max Jancke. Along with many other aunts and uncles who were all waiting for him. He leaves behind his daughter Jessica Jancke and son Jacob Jancke and their mother Patti Atkinson. Opa to Joey Jancke and his fur grandson Charlie. Forever missed, a generous and caring brother of Nancy Jancke, Brenda Hilderley (Steve), Robert Jancke (Brenda), Paul Jancke and Glenn Jancke. Sadly missed by life long friend John Rawlings and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Peter was a heavy equipment operator for over 40 years, travelling all over Canada doing what he loved the most. We would like to thank all of the amazing doctors that were involved in his journey; Dr. Patricia Van Hoof, Dr. Bodnar, Dr. Reich, Dr. Booth, Dr. Beuhner and Dr. O'Brien. To his nurse's Rochelle Larocque and Alyssa Knox you are both amazing. Thank you to Laura Moss from NELHIN's. A special thank you to Dr. Bowen and Sheila Hamilton RN, you went over and above for us and for that we cannot thank you enough. We would also like to specially thank Dr. McLean, your patience and compassion is what made everything so peaceful. As Peter wished he was cremated with a private family ceremony. Words cannot express the sorrow and pain I feel for you at this time. Nothing could have prepared you for this – Pete's death came like a swift wind , bringing great pain to all who loved him.
He was an awesome guy with a great sense of humor - always happy and full of life and even though his heart has stopped beating his laughter and big spirit will live on forever.
Realizing Pete will not be there for the life events ahead is profound, but I know he will be looking out for all of you because that’s the kind of dad he was. Virtual hugs to all.

My sincerest condolences to the Jancke family. Pete and I worked together on a number of jobs together pipelining. Every morning when we arrived on the job Pete always had a big smile on his face.
His happy demeanour emanated throughout the whole crew. He always had some good advice to give if asked and was an excellent operator. He will be missed by those he worked with over the years .
Rest In Peace Pete.

My condolences Jake and Jess for the passing of your dad! I hope you are doing ok. Pete was taken way too early! I knew Pete through a short time pipelining. His smile and big deep laugh was contagious and could always light up a room or a bus. He was a hell of an operator and respected by many! He truly loved his family. You could always count on him for good conversation, a great meal and hospitality wether we were on the job or passing through the Sue! It was a must stop wether he was home or not! My respect for him was huge and considered him a great friend in the short time I was around him! He will definitely be missed! Rest In Peace my friend.

I am so saddened to hear of Peter's passing. Peter was one of the members whom I looked forward to coming into the union office and talking about his love of work and his family. He was such a gentle and happy person. Peter will be missed. (Patti)

To the Jancke families, please know we are thinking of you all at this very difficult time. Our heartfelt condolences to each one of you. I have fond memories of Peter, growing up in the neighbourhood. One memory I will never forget is the ride I had in the back of his truck while he drove down Landslide ski hill. Wishing you all peace in your hearts. With Love, Mason, Kevin and Pauline Spry
