Phyllis Fross, who lived in Scarsdale for over 50 years, passed away at the age of 91 on December 10th at Kendal on Hudson in Tarrytown. She was predeceased by husband Alvin, a founding partner of the intellectual property law firm Fross, Zelnick, Lehrman & Zissu. Phyllis was a tireless advocate for children at risk, working for many years in Westchester County’s Social Services in both the foster care and Child Protective Services units. A passionate lover of music, she adored attending the opera and singing in the choirs at Scarsdale Congregational Church, the Scarsdale Women’s Club and Kendal.
She leaves behind her children Erica and husband Rob, Stuart and wife Catherine, Tony and wife Katrin, and grandchildren Rachel and husband Tony, Caitlin, Ethan, Tucker and Chloe. Services will be held at Scarsdale Congregational Church on Saturday, December 22 at 10:00 a.m.
Donations may be made in her name to the Scarsdale Congregational Church or to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
