Richard W Lovell

Richard Warden Lovell, 69, died at his home in rural Lyman on Nov. 6, 2018. A lifelong resident of the valley, he was loved by his family and respected throughout a long career as a versatile mechanic by those who worked with him. He was born to Douglas and Frances (Warden) Lovell on Oct. 29, 1949, in Scottsbluff. He graduated from Gering High School in 1968 and from Western Nebraska Community College in Sidney with a degree in mechanics in 1972. He married Linda Simon of Scottsbluff on July 20, 1971. Linda and their children--sons Brian and Benjamin and daughter Erin Holcomb--were blessed by his affection, inquisitive mind and quirky sense of humor. Richard was a member of Kiowa Community Church where he enjoyed fellowship and gave generously of his time. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his mother; son-in-law Matthew Holcomb; sisters Jean Lovell and Lynn (Ken Kozak) Roberts; and extended family and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Vera Simon. His family will hold a private service. Sorry for your loss of your husband Richard. My favorite Bible verse is tucked away in the old testament and begins, "Lord, it is nothing for you to help......". I will loan my verse to you.
My very favorite memories of growing up are found at the park in Bridgeport complete with the picnic benches, big trees, and an extra special cousin named Linda to make the play time special. Thank you for my memories.
