Jean was born in Ada, MI in 1922 and was raised with her mother Geneva Nafie, father Charles Abbajay, and 10 (of 13) surviving siblings (7 sisters; Florence, Margery, Josephine, Jean, Dolores, Elizabeth, and Shirley, and 4 brothers; Richard, James, Duane and Donnie) in a very close, loving family.
She met Glenn Rejsa after he returned from serving in WWII. Glenn was traveling with a friend on his way back to IOWA, when he met Jean in Toledo, OH. She was one of the seven lovely sisters that lived across the street from his Army buddy, Bob Abodeely. Glenn and Jean were married on Oct 30, 1945 and remained happily married until Glenn’s passing in 2004. They had 3 children; Jean Ann, Teresa, and Edward.
Jean was a caring, generous, hard-working and loving daughter, sister, wife, Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and neighbor. She was a breast-cancer survivor and a woman of strong Christian faith throughout her life. Her good humor endeared her to everyone.
She is survived by her daugher Teresa, son Edward, sister Shirley, 5 Grandchildren (Alexander, Laurence, Olivia, Sarah and Amy) and 4 Great-Grandchildren (Matthew, Tristan, Kaylee and Katie).
