Salvatore V. Chiovare, 83 of Phoenix, AZ passed away on June 15, 2022. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 22, 1939. He graduated from Austin High School, Chicago. Sal served with Company F of the 335th Regiment in the United States Army Reserve. He worked at the Chicago Tribune, then relocated to Phoenix, AZ, and worked as a Mailer in the Production Department of the Arizona Republic/Phoenix Gazette newspaper. Sal was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He had a passion for spending time with family and making annual trips to Costa Vida in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Sal is survived by his fiancée, Cathy Clark, daughters Pam Chiovare & Michelle DeLorenzo (Edward), grandchildren Brendalee & Myles Littlejohn, brother Victor Chiovare, nephews Victor Chiovare (Victoria) & Joe Chiovare (Lindsey), nieces Lisa Chiovare, Nicole Chiovare & Maria Ayala (Emmanuel), and many beloved great-nieces & great-nephews.
Services in Sal's honor will be held Wed., July 13, 2022 at St. Luke Catholic Church (19644 N 7th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85027) with a visitation at 11:00 am, rosary at 11:30 am and mass at 12:00 pm.
