Dear Steve, I will always think of you as the Big Brother I never had. I so appreciated your knowledge and wisdom. You were truly the "Jack of All Trades" and "Master of Them!" You were our "Go to Guy" for just about everything! Thank you for your contributions both personally and professionally. You are already missed and there's a whole in our hearts.
May this past life rest in peace. Your soul and spirit will happily live on.
Love you Steve and see you around the corner...Elaine

To Kathleen and family,
We express our deepest sympathy at the loss of Steve. What an emotional time it is. We did not know Steve well, but we did have a good visit with him on Easter Day outside the house on Cherry Hills Drive. Being our next door neighbor, we would have liked to get to know Steve more. We know he loved Zoe, his cat. He talked about how the cat could cheer him up and also drive him crazy! Steve liked to go out and shop a bit. More than once, we saw Steve at Fry's Grocery store, where Carrie tried a short stint of employment. Steve told us about how after he retired he got a job moving appliances and the like, and was probably at his best, physically, during that time. He said God decided he would not do that job forever. Steve always said "hi" when he saw us. Reading Scott's memories, we can tell Steve was a great dad and he probably had many stories to share. We also know he enjoyed attending Scott's wedding.......such a joy for the whole family. We send our condolences and extend to Kathleen, "If you need anything that Tom and Carrie can help with, don't be shy to reach out." That is what neighbors are for. May your memories etch Steve's life and engrave his love for you all on your hearts forever.

Dear Brother,
You looked so handsome in your tux for Scott's wedding, but all too frail. I wish I would have held your hand more as we walked and talked and given you so many more hugs before the night ended. I'll remember my trips to Tucson where you were my ardent travel coordinator. You will be ever in my heart Big Brother as always being kind and caring. Until we meet again rest and be at peace.
Love Sister Susan

"Good Brother." Those are the words I use when thinking or talking about you. You always were mellow, down to earth, and systematic in your thinking, doing the job right and finishing what you started (like the planning and replacing of the roof at Loon Lake). I'll always remember you with your cars and friends when we lived on LeClaire in Chicago. The times fishing and having your friends up at the lake. You progressed in your work which eventually led you to live in Naperville and then your retirement in Tucson. You always took care of your family. It was great to see you at Scott’s wedding in Chicago, but I never thought it would be the last time. You were a "Good Brother!" Love, Brother Al
