Evelyn Blackman Roberson

Evelyn was born September 15, 1926 in San Angelo, Texas.

Evelyn is survived by her Loving Husband of 20 years Edgar (Ernie) F. Roberson; Sons:

David Wayne Blackman and wife Rita Ann Blackman; Rickey Lee Blackman and wife

Cindy Blackman; Sister: Betty Jean Murphree; Grandchildren: Eric Andrew Blackman,

Jennifer Michelle Blackman, Cathryn Alyssa Blackman; Great Grandchildren:

David Wayne Blackman II, Evelyn Ann Blackman, Connor David Blackman,

Christian Damien Blackman and Ashley Angel Mosley; Sister-in-laws:

Maudie (Pood) Blackman, Betty Starnes, Emma Jean Everett and June Everett;

Nieces and Nephews: she loved them all.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her Father: Robert Earl Everett; Mother:

Ada Lynn (Loden) Everett; Sister: Eileen Novella Locke; Brothers: Robert Earl Everett, Jr.;

Frank Lee Everett; Marlin Joe (Pete) Everett; Tommy Bruce Everett; Kenneth Carl Everett; Granddaughter: Kelly Marie Blackman; Evelyn's Sons' Father: Enoch Amos (Blackie) Blackman.

Evelyn was born during the Great Depression and rose from that hard, early life to flourish in the life she shared with her family and many friends. She was fiercely protective of her family but showed grace, warmth and humor to all. She never missed an important event involving her sons or an opportunity to gather with the people whom she loved. She was privileged to be married to two great men during her lifetime, and she honored, loved and cherished them both. She enjoyed painting, traveling to visit family and friends, watching hummingbirds and fishing. Evelyn was a member of the Church of Christ and had a deep, abiding faith in Christ.

A visitation for Evelyn will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM. A committal service will occur Thursday, June 7, 2018 following the service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
