Rodney was born on June 13, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to Charles and Hazel Leach. He graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School. Rodney worked in building maintenance for over 30 years. On September 15, 1978 he married Deborah Abbott in Dallas, Texas. They were married for 41 years.
Rodney is preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; his brother, Steve; and his granddaughter Kennedy Leach.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Leach; sons Christopher and Brandon Leach; daughter in law Kourtni Leach; grandchildren Megan, Devon, Cooper, Collin and Luke; great grandson Kashton and numerous other family and friends.
Rodney is known for his humorous personality, big heart and being a simple man. It didn’t take much to make him happy. If you saw him at home, he would have a cigarette in his hand sitting in the garage watching Nascar and sports. He knew how to make everyone feel special and never met a stranger. He enjoyed gambling at the casino with his wife and treasured fishing with his sons and grandsons. He adored his grandchildren. Rodney had a great work ethic and enjoyed his job. He was a handyman and liked to teach his boys his trades. Most of all, Rodney loved spending time with his family and friends. His love, selflessness, enthusiasm, and persistence blessed all who knew him. He will forever be missed.
Special thanks to Ronnie Abbott and Peggy Sanders for their compassionate help so that he could live his last days at home with his wife and family as he wished.
The graveside service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Seagoville, Texas on October 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Chris Knowles officiating.
