Dear Carolyn, Rochelle, John, Lee Ann, Clayton and Clarissa.

I was saddened to hear of your husband/father/grandpa’s passing and wanted to offer my sympathies and a reflection.

I first want to say how much fun I can remember having with all of you guys. The great times we used to have coming over to your house or time spent at Bowman’s Barn, camping at Stoneman lake. It left indelible memories that I will always cherish. I was truly bummed when you guys moved to WA.

I was very fond of Roger and revered him as being a member of the Patrol and someone older than my dad that did the same job. Both my Mom and Dad were extremely found of Roger and all of the Bowman family.

I felt and I think the same is true for my Brother that we could relate to Roger because like us, Roger was a highway patrolman’s son. Roger was the only person I knew at that time that followed in his fathers footsteps which is something I wanted to do and did.

I can remember babysitting Clayton with my mom one afternoon when he was just an infant. I had rocked Clayton to sleep who had been fussing all afternoon. Roger came and picked Clayton up after work and my mom announced that I had rocked Clayton to sleep. I will never forget Roger’s smile and remark when he called me an, “All American Boy”.

To hear a man so few of words say that about me... I can’t describe how proud it made me feel.
